Japan Business Management Visa

Overview

The Japan Business Management Visa is a long-term residence permit that allows foreign nationals to conduct commercial investment and business operations in Japan. The main applicant can apply by establishing a company in Japan (with a minimum registered capital of 30 million JPY). Spouses and unmarried children under 18 years of age who are financially dependent are eligible for a Dependent Visa.

Core Application Requirements

For the Main Applicant:

1. Be at least 18 years old (20 years old or above is recommended for a higher success rate) with no criminal record in Japan for the past 5 years.
2. Possess at least 3 years of executive management experience, or hold a master's degree or higher in a relevant field.
3. The proposed salary must not be lower than the average remuneration for the same position in Japan.
4. At least one person (either the applicant or a full-time employee) must have Japanese language proficiency equivalent to JLPT N2 or BJT 400 points (official certification required).

For the Company:

1. Registered Capital: ≥ 30 million JPY (Paid-in capital).
2. An independent office leased in the company's name (must be clearly designated for commercial use; residential addresses are not permitted).
3. A Japanese national or a permanent resident is required as a co-founder.
4. Must hire at least 1 qualified full-time employee (specifically Japanese nationals, permanent residents, or other designated individuals).
5. A feasible business plan verified by a Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Management Consultant must be submitted.

Application Process:

1. Qualification Review, Customized Documentation, and Legalization;
2. Engagement of Co-founder and Remittance of Paid-in Capital;
3. Establishment of company, Tax Enrollment, and Commercial Space Acquisition;
4. Filing of Application with the Immigration Services Agency of Japan;
5. Submit the visa application to the Japanese Embassy/Consulate in China after obtaining the Certificate of Eligibility.
6. Visa Issuance → Arrival in Japan → Application for Residence Card;
